Interfacing the alarm panel/accessory to the access controller

    August 19th, 2020

There are external alarm inputs and outputs for the access controller. They can be used to interface with the alarm panel.

The number of alarm inputs and outputs vary by model.

2P42: 4 sets(4x2) of alarm inputs and 4 alarm outputs.

Ext. Alarm 1 input and Ext. Alarm 2 input trigger Ext. Alarm Output 1 relay.

Ext. Alarm 2 input and Ext. Alarm 3 input trigger Ext. Alarm Output 2 relay ...and so on.

2P81: 4 alarm inputs and 4 alarm outputs.

Ext. Alarm 1 input triggers Ext. Alarm Output 1 relay.

Ext. Alarm 2 input trigger Ext. Alarm Output 2 relay ...and so on.

2P41 and 2C41: 1 alarm input and 1 alarm output.

Ext. Alarm 1 input triggers Ext. Alarm Output 1 relay

The external alarm input is active low. The external alarm output relay is in contact when the corresponding alarm input is LOW. The relay will disconnect 15 seconds after the alarm input signal is removed.

For an example, if an external alarm signal lasts 2 seconds, the relay will be disconnected after 17 seconds when the alarm input signal is applied.

    Note:

    1) When External Alarm 1 Input signal is triggered, all door will be unlocked automatically. Therefore, do not connect Ext. ALARM 1 input if high security level is required.

    2) External Alarm Input 2 for 2P42 works similar to External Alarm Input 1 because the input signals work in a pair.

Typical application: Smoke detector can be connected to External Alarm Input 1, when the smoke detector triggers, all doors are unlocked automatically for emergency evacuation.
