    Packaging Hard Drives for Transit

    March 7th, 2025

If you have a hard drive that needs to be returned, follow the steps below to ensure we receive it in good condition. As hard drives are sensitive components, any damage will void the warranty of the product.

    1. ESD Protection

Place the hard drive in a sealed anti-static bag (available at electronics stores or included with new drives).

    2. Secure Packaging

Cushion thoroughly: Wrap the drive in bubble wrap or non-movable foam to prevent movement.

Avoid packing peanuts, and air filled bags.

    3. Use a Sturdy Box

Choose a rigid, undamaged cardboard box.

Do NOT use: Chipboard cartons, padded envelopes, bubble mailers, or reused/damaged boxes.

    4. Include Documentation

Attach the Return Authorization (RA) form inside the box.

Label clearly: Write the service ticket number on the package in bold print.
(No RA? Contact support before shipping.)

    5. Ship Safely

Send to the address on your service ticket.

Keep your ticket number and your tracking number.

Please contact us if you have any questions regarding sending your drive back for a warranty claim.
